Foundation & Early Development
1973~1981
  • 1973
    • SEA & LAND Transportation Co., Ltd. was officially established in June with an initial capital of NT$10 million.
  • 1975
    • Commenced operations in heavy cargo transportation and lifting services.
  • 1978
    • Signed a service contract with The Eastern Peninsula Line (UK), represented in Taiwan by Jardine Matheson, to handle all container transportation for imports and exports through Taiwan’s ports, as well as inland transshipment.
  • 1980
    • Entered into a transportation agreement with Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation, covering import/export containers and inland transfers across Taiwan.
  • 1981
    • Merged with Lu Feng Transportation Co., Ltd., which was later renamed as SEA & LAND’s Kaohsiung Branch. Following the merger, the company’s capital increased to NT$36.7 million.
Continued Growth
1982~1992
  • 1982
    • Signed a major service contract with Maersk Line (Denmark), represented in Taiwan by Kwai Marine Services Co., Ltd., to handle the majority of container transportation for imports, exports, and inland transfers.
  • 1985
    • Entered into a full-service container transport agreement with Hyundai Merchant Marine (Korea), represented in Taiwan by Seafront Co., Ltd.
  • 1986
    • Signed a transportation contract with Qi Yang Co., Ltd. for import/export container movement and inland transfers within Taiwan.
  • 1987
    • Fully computerized all business and operational workflows.
    • Acquired and relocated to the new Taipei headquarters at No. 99, Fuxing North Road.
  • 1990
    • Undertook the transport of 120 electric train cars for the Taipei Metro Muzha Line project.
    • Signed a storage and handling agreement for empty containers with Jardine Matheson & Co.
  • 1992
    • Completed the transport of waste incineration facility components for the Environmental Protection Administration’s Shulin and Xindian plants, with a total cargo weight of 60,000 F/T.
Breakthrough & Innovation
1993~1999
  • 1993
    • Transported 132 electric train cars for the Taipei Metro Tamsui Line project.
  • 1995
    • Obtained ISO-9002 international certification for quality management and assurance.
    • Signed a storage and handling agreement for empty containers with Hyundai Merchant Marine, represented in Taiwan by Seafront Co., Ltd.
    • In June, received approval from the Securities and Futures Commission for public stock offering.
  • 1996
    • On January 25, officially listed on the Over-the-Counter (OTC) market.
    • Executed heavy cargo transport of reactor units for Phase I of the Formosa Mailiao Sixth Naphtha Cracking Project.
  • 1997
    • In September, established SEA & LAND WINE & SPIRITS INC., expanding into the wine and spirits import business.
  • 1998
    • Set a national record by completing the combined sea and land transportation of a 1,377-ton high-pressure storage tank at the Mailiao Sixth Naphtha Cracking site.
    • Carried out the heavy transport of reactor units for Phase II of the Formosa Mailiao project.
    • Acquired tugboats and barges, and officially launched the Coastal Shipping Division.
    • Invested in the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) business.
  • 1999
    • Relocated the headquarters to Xizhi District.
    • Renamed the company to SEA & LAND Co., Ltd.
Practical Growth & Operational Efficiency
2000~2010
  • 2000
    • Capital increased to NT$650 million.
  • 2004
    • Invested in LPG vehicle conversion and fueling station businesses.
    • Commenced transport of generator units for the construction of Taipower’s Datan Power Plant (a total of 9 units, with transport operations still ongoing).
    • Completed the transport of 360 carriages and related equipment for the Taiwan High-Speed Rail project.
  • 2005
    • Executed the transportation and lifting of the first reactor unit for the Taipower Fourth Nuclear Power Plant (NPP4).
  • 2006
    • Carried out the transport and lifting of the second reactor unit for NPP4.
  • 2007
    • Invested in a Vietnam branch office and applied for the long-term lease of approximately 50,000 m² of industrial land.
  • 2009
    • All company tractors were equipped with GPS and a real-time dispatching system.
  • 2010
    • Obtained ISO 9001:2008 certification for quality management and assurance.
    • Invested in solar power generation.
Pursuing Excellence
2014~Now
  • 2014
    • Acquired the tugboat SEA & LAND No. 6.
  • 2015
    • All company trailers were equipped with dashboard cameras.
    • Paid-in capital increased to NT$780 million.
    • Invested in biogas power generation.
  • 2018
    • Set a national record by completing the transport of a scrubber tank for Formosa Plastics Nan Ya EG2 Project in Texas, USA.
      Dimensions: 105 meters in length, 8.5 meters in diameter, 1,740 metric tons in weight.
  • 2020
    • Formed a strategic alliance with Giant Heavy Machinery Service Co., Ltd. to expand market share and profitability in the heavy cargo transport and lifting sector.
  • 2021
    • Paid-in capital increased to NT$800 million.
  • 2022
    • Paid-in capital further increased to NT$1 billion.
    • Total fleet expanded to 8 vessels, including tugboats and barges.
    • Completed construction of five new warehouses at the Vietnam branch.
    • Introduced a smartphone-based dispatch system in the container transport division.
    • The newly constructed building of the Kaohsiung Branch received the National Golden Award for Architecture
  • 2024
    • Reconstruction and reopening of the Xiaogang (Kaohsiung) office, honored again with the National Golden Award for Architecture.
    • Over 85% of the fleet achieved Eco Label certification. Recognized as a Model Corporate Fleet by the Taipei City Government.
